At this time, HIVES, the Feminisms, Genders, and Sexualities working groups, and The Writing Center are cancelling the workshops and keynotes featuring Eli Clare next week. We are currently developing plans to reschedule these events in the fall.
In consideration of the wellness of our speaker as well as the multiple communities that were coming together around these events, we find it most prudent to Cancel Everything. In consideration of the amount of people potentially at risk, we are doing our part to flatten the curve of infection and to hopefully reduce strain on Michigan’s healthcare infrastructure.
In the interim, please be aware of scholars and activists whose lives may be impacted by the cancellation of talks and events such as these. Eli Clare sustains himself through academic/activist visits and via his Patreon, and it is unfortunate that we will have to delay his visit. Once we have a better understanding of campus health, HIVES will continue with a rescheduling of events featuring Jordan Scott and Eli Clare.
