November 7 Meeting With Valerie O’Brien

This month, HIVES will be working with visiting Big Ten Emerging Scholar Valerie O’Brien. She will join us for a collaborative reading group discussion. We will address the preface of Jasbir K. Puar’s Right to Maim, Christopher Bell’s satirical piece “Introducing a White Disability Studies,” and a conference-paper version of O’Brien’s “Autobiographical Absences: Kinship and Mourning in the Memoirs of Jesmyn Ward and Saidiya Hartman,” all available on the HIVES Reading Page.

If you plan to join us, please fill out this RSVP Form so that we can adequately prepare the space. All HIVES events are open to the public. We will see you November 7 from 4:00 to 5:30 in Wells C607!
